Fibers, Fabric Collage and Sewing Packs
I purchased my first real sewing machine at the beginning of 2010 and went from having zero fabric to having an over abundance. Here I will share some of my fibers, such as vintage and antique lace, vintage and antique fabric, upholstery fabrics and other goodies for use in fabric collage and other fiber art projects. Many of these items are OOAK (one of a kind) offerings, but the mixed bags and sample packs at the bottom of the page will typically be an ongoing offering.

Blue Fabric Collage/Fiber Art Pack $12.00
Containing everything you would need to make a gorgeous fabric covered art journal or altered book (or fabric collage), this bundle contains antique and vintage lace, recycled dark blue silk ribbon, buttons in azure hues, three pieces of patterned paper, upholstery fabric and an old spool of blue thread that I had gotten from my grandma's dusty sewing tin (Gütermann as been around for 140 years, you know). |

Red Fabric Collage/Fiber Art Pack $9.00
Roses are red, the other stack is blue... I'm trying to be witty, but failing you. (I like to publicly embarrass myself sometimes.) This red-rose-hued bundle is so pretty and sweet. It contains all that you see: a couple of pieces of red patterned (6 x 6") papers, some crimson upholstery pieces, recycled red sari silk ribbon, stretchy red velvet, a dainty little crimson thimble, bits of red antique lace, red-hued buttons, thread, etc. Imagine the cloth coloured journal you could make with this or rubyesque fabric collage!

Vintage Crocheted Lace, Cream $3.25 per foot
I absolutely adore this crocheted lace! It's gorgeous and ever so soft. It measures a little more than 1.5" in width and would be gorgeous to use any any fiber art project (I'm saving some for one of my altered books). Price is for one foot, unless that cuts into the scalloped edge, in which case you get a little extra.

 |
Vintage Crocheted Lace, White $3.50 per foot
This 2.25" wide lace is practically to die for if you have a crocheted lace fetish like me. It's not quite as soft to touch as the cream lace (above) but it's thicker and just as lovely delicate looking. Price is for one foot, unless that cuts into the scalloped edges, in which case you get a little extra.

 |
Antique Rusty Brown Crocheted Lace $2.75 per foot
This crocheted lace is quite old, though ironically not as old as the cream colored lace above, despite being almost identical in pattern. I love and have used quite a lot of this lace. You'll love it too! Price is for one foot, unless that cuts into the scalloped edge, in which case you get a little extra.

Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Bundle $5.50 per bundle
I purchased this for a project and have left-overs -- enough for five bundles of one yard+ of each of the three colors (for a total of 3 yards of recycled sari silk ribbon per bundle). It will be tied up sweetly with a recycled dark blue silk ribbon and i promise it smells scrumptious!

Vintage Crocheted Lace Heart or Wing $5.25 ea.
These beautiful crocheted vintage lace pieces resemble wings -- see how I used mine here. They come with a hanger at the top which you could keep or remove. They measure 3.5" x 4" not including string. Due to their varying degree of age and wear, these pieces are
not all exactly the same -- some are a lighter or darker hue than others. Let me pick one (or more) for you!
(but more may be coming soon!)

NEW Large Oval Vintage Crocheted Lace Doily $8.25
This would be so pretty in a fabric collage or altered book, in part or in full, coffee stained or as is. It's larger in person than it looks in the photo -- almost 15 inches long by about 8.5 inches wide. These came straight from an antique shop in New Zealand.

 |
NEW Two Feet of Cream Vintage Lace $3.25 ea.
I used a ton of this lace when I first purchased it on fabric collages and journal covers. I jut love it! It's gorgeous coffee stained or as is. It's about an inch and a half wide. Price is for two feet.

NEW Light Blue Stretch Lace $0.95 per foot
I purchased this and a couple other things from a doll making who had gone out of business but held on to her lace and other items for well over a decade. I don't typically do the "stretch" thing but this was so dainty and pretty that I couldn't resist. Plus, light blue is one of my favorite hues to coffee stain -- it's just gorgeous! Price is for one foot. Will not cut until you order in case you want more.

NEW Papery-Cloth Lace $2.00 per foot
Ya know, I have absolutely no idea what this is made of. It looks REALLY cool and feels almost papery in a way. It's not paper, of course, but it's rough and stiff but delicate at the same time. I would not consider wearing it, but I'd most certainly adorn an altered doll with it. It's so gorgeous with little tear-drop and round holes. Price is for one foot. Will not cut until you order in case you want more.

Sweet Little Vintage Boy and Girl Bundle $11.00
These little guys remind me of the gingerbread man and the gingerbread lady. When I was a little girl, I went to see Santa at this really cool place called Alpenrose Dairy. The gingerbread lady was there and fed me a cookie. Santa took so damn long that I ended up falling asleep in her lap. I think of that every time I see these guys, but I know you really don't care. It's cool -- no hard feelings. This little bundle comes with a piece of crocheted lace that smells of vanilla, the three attached squares and the two little people.

Golden Hued Upholstery Fabric Bundle $5.00
This is a menagerie of all things golden and yellowish, but pretty. There are six edged upholstery pieces of varying sizes and thicknesses, the smallest being about 6" x 12" (except the mini piece I put on top, but I didn't count that in the "there are six pieces..."). At least four of these pieces are about 13" square. These are great for fabric collage elements or fabric ATCs and ACEOs... or maybe tiny little golden dresses for resin clay ballroom zombie chicks. Maybe?

Dusty Pink Colored Upholstery Fabric Sample $2.50
Okay, I hate pink. Seriously. I've sat here for about 11 minutes trying to think of something prettier and cooler sounding than "pink" but I can't. Despite my loathing of that hue, I utterly adore this piece of fabric! Love, love!! It's soft and thick but supple. Probably not a proper adjective for fabric, but that's what comes to mind when I touch it (I'm petting it on my lap right now like a little puppy). It measures 18 x about 13 1/4". Pretty, pretty! There is a perfect flower in the bottom center and I am forcing myself not to cut it out for my next fabric collaged journal.

Soft Beige Large Upholstery Fabric Sample $3.25
Every time I touch this piece of fabric I fall more and more in love. If you don't buy it, I'll probably snatch it up in no time. I'm allowed to do that. :) This is not too thick and the flowers/pattern is embossed, or raised. It's pretty darn soft, and measures a large 17 x 17". If I had a couch made of this I would never leave the house.

 |
Brown Print Large Upholstery Fabric Sample $1.00
I really liked this at first, but now that I keep stroking all of the other pieces, I like it a little bit less. But don't let my moodiness stop you from adoring it!! It measures 16 x 12 1/4" and really must be transformed into a magnificent fabric collage. Frida maybe? Or a nude vintage beauty?

 |
Blue and Cream Upholstery Fabric Sample $1.75
When I photographed this I thought it was reversible, but at second glance, I'm thinking not. The blue side is the "real" side, though I still really like the back too. This measures about 16 x 16" square and although not too thick, would be a fantastic backing to a fabric collage -- and it's oh so pretty too! It has finished edges, but you'll probably want to cut them off and refinish it yourself. I mean... I would at least.
