Imagination has taken us on a creative journey where artist trading cards (ATC's), altered books, artists' journals, found object art and assemblages thrive in our daily lives. Beads, buttons and baubles, fiber embellishments, old game pieces and collage sheets are just some of the things that enhance our world and take it from ho hum to magical.

As artists, collectors, and curious beings we are always on the look out for fun and unique materials to create with. Frustrated by what we can't find we decided to start this site, not only to showcase our art work but to sell some of the treasures we have collected along the way. Our collection is limited, and often one of a kind so check back often!

Cleaning House Sale + Buy 2 Get 1 FREE Digital Collage Sheet Sale

Over the next week, I will be putting lots of items on sale as a means to clear out the old to make room for the new in 2010.

We're also having a buy 2 digital collage sheets, get 1 more for FREE. All of our collage sheets apply, even if they don't claim to be digital. Now is a great time to stock up! Sale ends November 3.

Four Digital Collage Sheets for $10

For the middle half of September, I will be offering four digital collage sheets for $10. ANY of the collage sheets qualify including those not listed as "digital" as well as the ones found on our Curiosities page. I'm going about this a little unconventionally but this is how it works: either paypal your $10 to hi@alteredbits.com with a note specifying which sheets and what format you'd like them in (JPG, PNG, PDF, PSD, etc.) and I will email them to you within a day. OR, you can email me which sheets and format and I'll send you a Paypal invoice, then email them to you within a day (or post them for you to download if you have size limits via your mail host).

September is National Sewing Month and I need to upgrade my 1907ish Singer, thus the sale. Shameless, I know, but good machines with 300+ stitches that can sew through thick fabric or paper, etc., aren't cheap. Happy shopping!

Digital Collage Sheets

Slowly but surely, we are not adding the option of "digital" to several of our collage sheets. This is a good way to save on postage fees and supplies while getting your goods faster and being more green. :) We will also be posting an exclusively "digital only" vintage lady collage sheet bundle within the next week or so. Check back soon to see them.

With new collage sheets coming in, we've decided to retire a couple of our "old" collage sheets. You will now find them on our free art page. We'll be adding more over time -- all retired collage sheets will become freebies.

In other news, we have gotten a few inquiries regarding selling our collage sheets wholesale to several altered art, collage, mixed media and scrap booking shops. After much thought about the idea, we've decided "why not!?". I'll be posting more information about this soon. Along with this will come new custom sheets. Fun times!

New at Altered Bits: Frozen Charlotte and Frozen Charlie Dolls

Imported directly from Nurnberg, Germany, Altered Bits is now offering Frozen Charlotte and Frozen Charlie Dolls. We adopted several of these sweet babies and will be selling them in limited quantities on the new Frozen Charlotte, Frozen Charlie, Vintage Dolls and Doll Parts page. We have moved all previously listed dolls and doll part related items from the Curiosities page to the new doll page as well.

Love for Seth Apter of The Altered Page

Over the last couple of weeks I have had the amazing privilege of getting to know Seth Apter of The Altered Page a bit better. I have been quite in love with is work since discovering it several months back and am proud to announce that he is the recipient of Altered Bits' love this month. Spring Cleaning

Due to several new items soon to be posted, we are having a little Spring Cleaning of sorts and offering discounted prices on several of our items, such as embellishments and alterables.

Also, we will be out of town until Thursday, March 26th. Due to the delay in my ability to ship during that time, I will be adding a lot more free goodies to orders than I typically do in appreciation of your patience.

Anatomically Altered Art Zine is up

After much ado and a couple of extensions, the Anatomically Altered Art Zine is now up on our artZine page. Thank you so much to all who participated, whether you made it into the zine or not. The selection was very tough!!

I also posted the theme for the next zine last week and surprisingly already have entries. I will be allowing a larger amount of art work for this zine so please feel free to enter. I would love to have a page or two of ATCs, mail art, inchies, and other small items so don't hesitate to send those for possible inclusion as well.
