  Imagination has taken us on a creative journey where artist trading cards (ATC's), altered books, artists' journals, found object art and assemblages thrive in our daily lives. Beads, buttons and baubles, fiber embellishments, vintage lace and collage sheets are just some of the things that enhance our world and take it from ho hum to magical. As artists, collectors, and curious beings we are always on the look out for fun and unique materials to create with. Frustrated by what we can't find we decided to start this site, not only to showcase our art work but to sell some of the treasures we have collected along the way. Our collection is limited, and often one of a kind so check back often! New Featured Guest Artist: Donna WasonI recently had the immense pleasure of interviewing Donna Watson, an award-winning contemporary mixed media artist whom I met in early 2009. Immediately upon seeing her amazing work for the first time, I was awe-stricken and head over heels in love: acrylic paint, textured papers, graphite drawings, rusty metal objects and digital images. There is so much to Donna's art... shadows and memories hiding under each layer like tiny secrets, subdued hues that evoke almost a meditative feeling, nature, letters, repetitious symbols, numbers... all so very refreshing and inspiring. ANY of the collage sheets qualify including those not listed as "digital" as well as the ones found on our Curiosities page. I'm going about this a little unconventionally but this is how it works: either paypal your $10 to hi@alteredbits.com with a note specifying which sheets and what format you'd like them in (JPG, PNG, PDF, PSD, etc.) and I will email them to you within a day. OR, you can email me which sheets and format and I'll send you a Paypal invoice, then email them to you within a day (or post them for you to download if you have size limits via your mail host). Altered Bits Art Zine “Odd Numbers” now publishedThe Altered Bits Zine "Odd Numbers" is now viewable on the Art Zine page! Digital Collage SheetsSlowly but surely, we are not adding the option of "digital" to several of our collage sheets.
